Egret in the Rain

This fantastic Japanese monochrome print shows an egret in the rain, his creamy white body makes a striking contrast to the black background. The original of this print shows slight wear around the edges which has been retained to keep the character of this gorgeous piece of vintage art. A white has been added to define the edge of the print.

This gorgeous woodblock print was originally created by Ohara Koson 1925-1936, a renowned Japanese painter who was a master of kacho-e (bird and flower designs). Hang this gorgeous print on its own or pair it with other images in our collection.
